Football News – Season Review
It was a great start to the season with the A team playing full
of confidence and winning their first game against Park Lane away 1
– 0 with Jack F scoring. The boys played well the whole game and the
1 goal was enough to secure the points. Man of the match was Jack F.
The B team consisting of a lot of new players were also on form and
through shear determination they earned a 1 – 1 draw. Man of the
match was Togi E.
On Thursday 16th March AJS played
New
Road
School
and dominated both games. The A team winning 5-0 and the B team
winning 3-0. Scorers for the A team were: Ryan I (2), Jack F (1), Joe
M (1) and Charlie H (1).
Jonathan
S scored once and Josh H scored twice for the B team. Both teams
played extremely well displaying individual skill mixed with team
flare!
Man
of the match for the A team was Ryan I and for the B team; Josh H.
After excellent wins the week before both teams were full of
confidence, unfortunately a lucky but well taken goal by park lane
meant that the A team lost 1-0.
The
B team were also unlucky going down 5-2. Both teams will now need to
put these defeats behind them ready for the game against
New Road
.
Man of the match for the A team was Aaron H and Jonathan S for
the B team.
On the 26th April AJS played a league game at
New
Road
Primary School
. The A team had most of the possession in the first half but
unfortunately failed to score. In the second half
New Road
scored twice and although AJS kept up the pressure it was simple not
meant to be. Final score 2 – 0 to
New Road
. Man of the match was Charlie H.
This
now left the league very close between all the teams and it looked
like goal difference would decide who won. After adding up the amount
of goals scored by each team it was clear that AJS had scored more
goals and therefore were declared champions of their league.
The
B team were also in form and once again had most of the possession for
the majority of the game. It was goalless at the end of the first half
and soon after the restart
New Road
took the lead. However through great determination from the boys they
managed to pull level with a Josh H goal and almost won it at the end
with a couple of chances just going wide. Man of the match was Logan
M.
This
leaves the B team middle of their league which the boys can be very
proud of.
Well
done to all of the boys who have played this season. What a great one
it has been.
A team consisted of:

AJS Country-dance
fever
I’m sure you’ve all heard of country music, well, you may
have only heard it when you go to your grandma’s house, and she ends
up dancing with you to it, but Alderman Jacobs School has taken a step
further: a club dedicated to dancing to wonderful country music. The
club takes place every year during spring and summer. It’s on
Tuesdays, from three thirty, to ten past four, and is in the big hall,
at AJS primary school. Country-dance club gets children from year’s
three to six ‘ groovin’ to the music, doing dances such as the
Circle Clap Dance, the Blaydon Races, and I Want To Be Near You (No,
not a pop song by Britney Spears!). In the Circle Clap Dance, you
circle round, go in and out of the circle, and then you do lots of
claps with your partners, and then you swing with your partner. It is
thoroughly enjoyable to watch. In the Blaydon Races, you go in and out
of a circle twice, gallop in and out, in a swing shape with your
partner, again, twice, you then swing, and promenade. Very exciting. A
very detailed dance is I Want To Be Near You. We didn’t get the
details of the dance because we were in shock of how professional the
children looked. Some were even younger than us! The children are
performing at a festival on Thursday 25th May 2006. In two
days! Other schools are going to be there also, to perform. We wish
every school the best of luck.

STUNTMANIA
On the 18th of May, a stuntman came to Alderman Jacobs
School. He showed years 1, 2, 3, 4, and early years a stunt show they
will remember. He did some daring stunts such as jumping off his van,
and jumping from a big ramp, to a small ramp, without even touching
the floor! Lots of year 4s described the experience as exciting, and
cool. Unfortunately, year 5’s and year 6’s didn’t get to watch
him because of the rain. Thanks to all the year 4’s who agreed to be
interviewed, including Georgia J, Annie P, Harry H, and Vicky J.

Dancing
like crazy.
On
Mondays after school there is a club, a dancing club and they dance
like CRAZY! But it is wonderful and it takes place from 3.30 – 4.15
three quarters of an hour isn’t bad. Over 25 children go to the club
and Mrs Randall teaches it looks good fun. There will be a performance
on the 3rd of July at 7pm in the big hall at Alderman
Jacobs school there will be tickets on sale they will be £1.50 each.
The song they are working on now is called Chim Chimmery and it takes
lot of practice, they dance on their own and in partners. You may
think it is for girls but it isn’t, there is a mix of boys and girls
and they do lots of spins, twirls and heel work and they even wear
costumes. I hope you enjoyed reading this, goodbye.
